Youth Awareness Environmental Forum (YAEF/Nepal) is community
based non-profit membership organization established in 1994
A.D. This YAEF is registered according to law of press and
publication act 2049 B.S. This YAEF is an association concern
with motivate environmental awareness in the messes and perform
social work. It is not a normal NGO but a medium of communication
as well as an organizational forum.
YAEF organizes various programs for and with local communities
with objectives of improving livelihood and security of local
people. Empowering the and enhancing conservation efforts.
It works on the different part of the rural areas, mainly
in environmental sector. One of the key focus areas of the
forum is to create public awareness on the environmental issues.
This will be done through the conduction of seminars and workshop,
through articles by our own press on the result of the programs.
One area for awareness creation will as such be how to reduce
the air pollution originating from petrol, diesel and LPG
vehicles in the Katmandu valley. This will be done by dissemination
of information on the environmental ecological and economical
problems caused by the adulteration by the fuel.
Besides this, the forum has been launching different programs,
like safe and pure drinking water, also Nature Conservation
as well as protection of Bio-diversity in different places
of Nepal The forum as the first to raise the voice regarding
pollution induced by tempos run under diesel in Katmandu Valley.
We actively participated against it is worked for the total
banning of tempos run under diesel.
The forum actively involved against the use of plastic, we
plead to the Government to use less than 20 microns. Our forum
urges people to use cotton mask as protection form air and
dust pollution. Likewise further programs on health, sanitation
and other environment-related fields publish magazines, pamphlets
and parch to aware people on environment.
- To help people to protect and provide clean and healthy
environment to spread awareness among the people with the
help of local youths.
- To create awareness among local people to be friendly
with the environment.
- To produce and broadcast educational and informational
programme on environment, health and education.
To make people aware about social services and create friendly
relations among them.
- To inform Nepalese people about the degrading environment
of Nepal as well as the world.
- To produce and broadcast information oriented programmed
to keep balance between environmental and development.
- To inspire people to do some social works for the development
of self-help society.
- To help for up-liftmen of the life standards of Nepalese
people through income generating Programmers’.
- To give suggestion to the government on depleting environment
condition and how to protect it. To facilitate those who
have done outstanding works in the field of environment.
- To take necessary steps ahead to make Nepal a country
of greenery and free from pollution.
- To suggest the government to protect historical heritage
site and to enforce environmental laws in Nepal effectively.
- To introduce Nepal in the world as a country with the
rich bio-diversity.
To conduct nature conservation programmers’ through
daily six hours of national geographic programmers’
as well as monthly magazine and radio for increase awareness
among local people to be friendly with the environment, health
and educational matter.
Scholarship
 
The organization is regularly providing academic scholarships
for the poor and needy, disabled, deprived and low cast students.
The organization is providing scholarships for 101 students
in many schools of the country annually.
Sanitation and drinking water
The organization is committed to provide sanitation and drinking
water facilities in the rural area of the country. The organization
has built many public toilets and distributed hand pumps and
tube-wells for drinking water purpose. In the same run this
year organization has built public toilets in the rural area
Katahari VDC of Morang district, and distributed tube-wells
at Kachandaha VDC of Saptari district.
Mask Distribution
The organization is first to introduce cotton mask in Nepal.
The organization regularly distributes cotton masks and urges
to use them as protection from air and dust pollution.
Environmental Information Center
The forum has been running the environmental library as a
center for awareness about environment, health and education
at the local level. The forum is also going to run an Environment
Information Center with the main objective to aware more and
more rural information to various village development committees
with 100 sub-stations around the country inter connected with
V-SAT Technology.
UN Tree Plantation Campaign in Nepal
The forum also has been running UN Tree Plantation Campaign
in Nepal targeting specially Nepal to plant million trees
since 2006 onwards. The forum has planted and preserved 5,000
trees on 2006, and 5,000 trees on 2007 and 3,000 trees on
2008 at different places.
Regular Programs organized by YAEF
The forum has organized various campaigns in the
remote areas. The programs are related health, sanitation,
drinking water and environmental issues like that YAEF has
been celebrating world environment day on 5th June every year
by organizing different programs to make people aware of pollution.
There are lost of workshop and training carried out by YAEF
giving students training to impart the skills to ensure for
their employment. Facilitating elder citizens giving motivational
training to women and many other issues. We celebrate World
Environment Day, World Wetland Day, World Heritage Day, World
Bio-Diversity Day, World Water Day,UN Day as a national festival
every year. We also conducted blood donation program in various
occasion etc.

To running UN Tree plantation campaign in Nepal
 Youth
Awareness Environmental Forum YAEF/NEPAL,UN Tree plantation
campaign in Nepal is going to be conducted with the aim to
eradicate the distorted global environmental problemb which
is supposed to bring balance between environment and development.It
is enevitable to protect the green forest in Nepal to modify
the environmental upheaval of Nepal. It is very high time
to sow a seed of green revolution to develop and independent
society. A committee of 43 members was formed under the chairmanship
of former Member of House of Representative Mr. Baburam Nakarmi
to bring it in practice on 7th,Asar 2063(2006) after a long
interaction programme held in Nepal Kala Parisad. The committee
had got a legal stand with an agreement on 27th, Asar 2063(2006)
in the hall of Nepal Bar Association from a long interaction
programme. The intoduction programme among the officials of
campaign was held on 2nd Shrawan 2063(2006) hosted by the
Chief guest of Under Chief Mr. Ram Babu Shah of United Nations
Information Center Kathmandu, Nepal.  In
the programme the Chairman of Mr. Babu Ram Nakarmi had handed
over Rudrakshya Tree to the Chief guest Mr Shah. UN tree plantation
campaign in Nepal had began after it had planted in the compound
of UN office in Nepal with the aim to give the company to
the campaign the plantation programme of Chap, Dhupi,Lausi
was held in Telkot,Bhaktapur. In the programme, the honorable
Vice-Chairman of National Assembly Mr.Ramprit Paswan had attended
as Chief guest of the time. The forum will be always initited
to fulfill the dream of UN tree plantation campaign in Nepal
by planting in the various parts of Nepal in forth coming
days
